Marion Master Trails Plan:

Marion’s current Master Trails Plan was adopted in 2014 (Amended 2017) and provides an outline for future trails and on-street bikeways with an emphasis on connectivity to community destinations and enhancement of the regional trail network. The Plan focuses on existing conditions, best practices for design, a recommended trail network, plan implementation, and performance measures.

Current Trails Map

Boyson Trail - 2.4 miles, crushed limestone trail, follows Indian Creek.

Gemstone Trail - Utilizing the former Indian Creek Road right-of-way this trail connects the sidepaths on Tower Terrace Road to the sidepath on Lucore Road.

Gill Park Trail - 1,500 feet, circular walking path.

Grant Wood Trail - 1.69 mile paved trail from the east end roundabout to Waldo’s Rock Park, with an additional 2.83 miles of crushed limestone surface to Oxley Road in Linn County. 

Hanna Park Fitness Trail - Situated along Boyson Trail running through Hanna Park, this new section of the existing trail features outdoor exercise equipment for public use.   

Krumbholtz Trail - .75 mile, crushed limestone trail, Thomas Park to Highway 100.

Lindale Trail - 1 mile, crushed limestone trail, from Lindale Drive West to C Avenue.

Lowe Park Trail - 1.25 mile, paved trail from 10th street to Oak Ridge Middle School parking lot.

Lowe Park Art Trail - Paved path that winds its way through art sculptures and behind the Klopfenstein Amphitheater for the Performing Arts.       

Marion Trail Etiquette:

  • By City Ordinance pets MUST be on a leash and owners are required to picked up after them if they make a mess
  • Keep the trail clean and tidy
  • Stay alert
  • No horses allowed on our trails
  • No motorized vehicles
