Local water supplies and water conservation are not enough to meet demands in the Valley District service area.  We also rely on water from northern California that is captured before it flows into the Pacific Ocean and then transported from around San Francisco through the State Water Project.  Residents in Valley District made a huge investment in this crucial infrastructure.

The California WaterFix finishes the State Water Project by moving the intake north of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.  Moving the intake north protects reliability, eliminates current environmental impacts and improves water quality.
